Screencast on how to add thumbnails to web2feel themes.

Since the release of WordPress 2.9, themes released by web2feel are using a new feature to enable thumbnails on featured posts and post excerpts etc.  Earlier we have been using the Timthumb script from  Darrenhoyt.com. This involved creating a customfield and applying the required image url to it. But with the release of WordPress 2.9 we have a  new feature called the_post_thumbnail feature. This enables us to add a thumbnail image to any of our post from the post editor itself. Yes, we do not need to use any customfields anymore.  I have relied on this feature on my new themes like Multichrome , Gamerpress, Pristilo etc.This feature will be used on all new themes from web2feel.com.

It is very very easy to enable thumbnails using this new feature , but since it is a new feature some users are confused how to do this. I have been getting many emails asking how to enable thumbnails on these latest themes. So I decided to go ahead and create a small screencast on how to do this. You can watch it below.

[ I have not made any screencasts before. I took an hour or so to make a 3 min screencast with so many outtakes..lol. Hope I was coherent and it was helpful to you]

    Thumbnail is terrific, could do it in the first place and thanks for your themes, have tried them some. But this theme is a bit confusing to me as I could not show menus beside home even categories have been set up and reupdated. How do I show the menus ? thanks a lot.

    Hello the tutorial help a lot but my post site does not give me he option to post thumbnails that link is not there. I have the yestilo theme. I have no clue what to do and my webhost does not know php codes. Can you PLEASE help I’m loosing my mind.

    thanks for the awesome tutorial, helps a lot.
    Use Yestilo on WP Ver 2.92, but the post Thumbnail link does not show up. Do we have to install the newest version of Yestilo to get it working?

    me too – looks easy in this video, and i do like the themes, but i have Wp 2.9.2 and there is no section to add a thumbnail like it shows in this vid. i am stumped

    the option thumbnail is available in some themes only(kodzilla), and i checked with some others, not available!, any idea?

    The post thumbnail option shown in the screencast is available only on latest themes. That is ten themes from Multichrome onwards.

    Old themes use the customfield method with timthumb script.

    tried to preview using prowess theme but it seem all the pictures I had were stretched automatically and all look awkward. What is the exact picture size that we should set ?

    Hi I added the
    add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

    in function.php so the post thumbnails option now shows in my posts. But sadly enough, even after trying everything, my still do not show the thumbnails…. please help

    Hi! I have a new installation of wordpress 3, and I'm not absolutely able to figure out to make Solarpress work! I don't know why the add thumbnail box doesn't show, and I'm not able to make the cuber work! :( ((

    Hey jinsona love your templates but a problem, saw the video and I have question,

    I'm using wp3.0 and your stargaze template how can I make a resent post show thumbnails without making it a feature post?

    The feature and thumbnail function seems tied together. In another video explaining the process I noticed a thumbnail tab inside the image install screen, now I see feature image tab inside this video, what is the story here?

    My theme is Calypso, and I can't show any of these thumbs. The Chrome sets there's a wrong parameter at timthumb. There is some conflict with plugins, or there is some plugin that I have to install to work everything properly? Thanks.
