I’m using this wonderful theme. But I have a question, I’m from Sweden and speaks Swedish (daah). The problem is that I need to spell “å”, “ä”, and “ö” in my blog description.

But the output is:

The images on flash slider uses customfield “slide” . Minimum width 950 and height 250. Even if you use large images it will be cropped.

This one does not have a horizontal category menu. I did not feel it will fit right in the design. You can always pull one category navigation on the sidebar anyways.

okay, i have it working smoothely now…don’t use links to pictures from another blog or something for the slide show…no bueno.

Still would love to hear how I can change the “It’s just another weblog” to my own, how to limit number of posts on front page, and anyone have info onhow to integrate custom google maps?

Hi, I havent been able to get the cuber working. I did as the video showed and nothing happend. I did something else I install the cuber plugin. I dontk know if that is what is messing up the things.

I had the exact same error. I re-uploaded the file with a different FTP program and the error disappeared.

I just checked and the one I was having a problem with was set to ‘auto’ transfer type. Make sure that your FTP program is set to transfer type ‘binary’ – think this will fix the problem.

Love this theme. But I’m having a heck of a time getting the Pages order to work. I’ve manually specified the order in each Page, and even tried two plugins to manage this, but none seem to work. Any idea why the sort order for Pages isn’t working?

I did it now for the 3rd time. backup of the database after each change on the site. if it crashes the backup helps to recover the cu3er again.

Great looking theme! I’ve set up the site following your video tutorial. Adding thumbnails to the posts work fine, but I’m having some trouble with the cu3er. I’ve set up the slider custom field and checked that the links are working, but the slider is just showing the cu3er icon. Any ideas?

Awesome theme! but really could use a home page sidebar – total miss opportunity for creating ad space… and a category nav bar would be nice as well – just my opinion, and the flash up top moves a bit to fast…

Have watched your video…. your set up is different. Am trying to get the cuber to work but isn't. I noticed that in the video 'featured post category' drop down has lots of lables I don't have like 'featured', 'category 1', etc. all of which I don't have which I think explains why I can't get the slider to work. I also want to change the footer and not have 'recent comments' as I want the comments turned off and to put something else in it's place. Also want the twitter part out but am guessing again that has to do with the categorie 1 etc that I don't have. I have totally deleted and downloaded it three times. Can you help. just realized im having issues with my 125×125 ads on the side bar. When I first put them up they work fine then maybe an hour later they are gone?!?! i dont know if the theme is conflicting with it or if it's coding errors from my affiliates but if i remove the code in the back end and then again place it the ads come back but then after a short time are again gone from the webpage…?

man ive been tryin everything i can think of – but i am a noob at this – anyway been trying to create a new page but with out the side bar so i can add my amazon store to it – and currently the side bar is blocking alot of my stores content – how can i fix??

This is a genuinely well-designed website.

It might enhance it to be able to use one set of posts for the slider, and a second set of posts for the featured posts by using a second category. Right now, you're using the “featured” for the slider and the featured posts. You might have a “slider” category for the slider, and the “featured” category for the featured posts. The way it is now, the slider posts and featured posts are the same. Why split them? Well, it might be helpful to have the featured posts but use the slider to display products or special events or like that.

The list of pages in the sidebar just list the site's page in the database order (as far as I can tell). I would help to list pages with indented subpages.

A problematical approach to design is building-in Twitter, Facebook, and other “social networks”. I think that in a year you'll need to think a second to remember what Twitter is when someone mentions it. The only addition of long-term interest is Flickr. It has a large group of paid subscribers.

As I said, real nice work, worth building upon.

I would suggest to others they download the page nav plugin to get the page numbers and to edit the WP Options > Reading page to change the number of articles on the home page. It took me awhile to work out those things so I thought I would share them. I understand that you want to retain credit for your work by attempting to secure the footer with encryption but then we're stuck with the three default topics (about, popular, recent). Is there no better way to maintain your credit?

No, you are not stuck with it. If you look among the theme files you will find a bottom.php where the footer widgets are referenced. You can edit that.

IF YOUR SLIDER DOESN'T SLIDE BUT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING PROPERLY SETUP: DEACTIVATE YOUR PLUGINS ONE-AT-A-TIME, THEN REFRESH YOUR PAGE, REPEATING UNTIL THE SLIDER RETURNS TO SLIDING. It's usually a plugin conflict.

I think I was having the same problem, i.e., my slide was not working despite following the instructions from the video. In trying to fix the issue, I noticed that the URL for the image used for the “slide” was different when you accessed it from the “edit post” option (as instructed by the video), then when you got the URL from the actual image in the “media library.” When I used the URL (found by editing the image in media library) from the image that I wanted to use as the link to the “slide” it work. I know what I’ve written doesn’t quiet sound coherent but I hope that you can follow.

What are the exact dimensions of the featured slider images?

I am having a problem with the size of the thumbnails in the header. Only a fraction of the picture is showing. From what I have read here they are supposed to auto-size. This doesn’t seem to be working for me.

The moment I try to activate this beautiful theme, my entire WordPress 3.1 goes nuts. This is the message that suddenly appears when I access the site:

I’ve tried the theme activation a dozen times, but the result is always the same. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Apologies for not delvng more deeply into the long list of posts that follow. I found the answer, and that would be to set the FTP upload type to binary. That solved the problem for me, but now I’m looking at getting the cu3er working. I’ll keep reading to see if I find the answer to that one.

The next hurdle:

I note that the “Featured Post settings” in your video show a number of choices in the drop-down menu for “Featured Post category”. I have none of those choices.

To use your video, I need to know how to enable those category choices.

The fact that you do not have any categories listed in your options page is simply because you may not created any categories. You can check the video below to have an idea how to work with categories.

THEN, AS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO, UPLOAD IMAGE OF REQUIRED DIMENSIONS INTO THE POST AND CREATE A CUSTOM FIELD CALLED “slide” IN THE CUSTOM FIELDS OPTION AND ADD THE URL OF THE IMAGE AS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO. bY DEFAULT, THERE WAS NO “slide” FIELD ENBLED.
YOU NEED TO DO THAT.

I have looked and looked. Using the newest WP version I have no such option in the upper right-hand corner of the posts section. Can you be clearer?
Have I missed something?

As for Mr. Jinsona’s YouTube video, there are important sections I can’t understand because of his accent. I’m not sure where to go with this since the CU3ER is really the highlight of this theme, and there doesn’t seem to be good information for those of us who aren’t getting it.

What troubles me most is that the tutorial for this theme shows an installation that I simply don’t have.   For example, right at the beginning of Jinsona’s video, his uploaded site appears with photos on the first page and a footer panel.  For some reason, that never existed on mine.  The next thing is that Jinsona’s video lists a bunch of choices in the dropdown panel for “Featured Post settings”.  Not on mine, even after a second install.  No wonder so many comments below are from frustrated people who are enticed to start this theme but can’t finish.  They have no remedy.

If I’ve done something wrong, there is no way to find out.  While Jinsona’s intentions might be good, his tutorials needs to be crystal clear. My queries on this page got no answers.  I even offered to hire Jinsona.  No response.

So if you’re having a problem with this theme, I suggest you do as I’m now  forced to do, and that is prepare to abandon it for something different.

Ok. It took me some time, but I finally got the cub3d thing to work. 

Like someone said earlier, you need to enable custom fields for this to work and by default wordpress does not have this enabled. 

Here is how you enable custom fields:

Go to Posts->Edit Post->Screen Options

Screen Options is located at the upper right hand corner. When you click on it you should get a pull down menu where you will see “Enable Custom Fields”. Make sure it is checked.

The options available under Screen Options is always different depending where you are in your dashboard; so it’s super important to be under “Edit Post” when you check Screen Options, otherwise you will not see “Enable Custom Fields”.

Now you can follow the instructions in the video and your cub3d should work.

Has anyone figured out how to organize the page order? By default, it organizes itself alphabetically. It’s driving me a bit crazy. I’ve already tried page order plugins as someone suggested early, but they don’t work.

I figured out my own problem and am posting my solution to being able to organize your page order.

- While in the dashboard go to Appearance/Editor
- While in the Editor click on “header.php” on the right hand side.
- Find:  in the code
- Replace with:

Hope this helps anyone who had the same problem as me.

Slide transition does not work. My steps have been like in the tutorial: 1. I have indicated the category to show in “Solarpress theme options -> Featured post Category:” 2. I added a custom field “slide” and the path of the image displayed on the slide transition. The result is that no image in the slider. I have the same problem, at the hosting “zobyhost” the slide transition works but at the hosting “000webhosting” doesn’t work.  I think that it’s a problem with the execution’s time of php in the hosting, but I don’t known how confirm that.

go to theme files folder images, search for the background image then use a program like Photoshop to adjust hueand saturation, then save it and put it back

Everything working fine except the cuber is showing only 1 slide instead of 2 or 3 or more. I have created 2 posts (for testing). But only 1 is showing in the slider although it is showing in the featured posts. How to fix it up ?

I have been using your theme with very good results since a long time, but one thing is still a mystery. How can i add custom links into the top menu above that cu3er slide? they are showing only pages i create and nothing else. i want to add some categories and custom links to that menu.
