Valor is a Gamers theme. This theme will cater to sites dealing with Game news updates, previews, reviews etc. This is powerful with options like Custom post types, Custom background, Custom menu, Custom taxonomy, Metaboxes, Theme options etc. This theme supports 3 different post types .

  1. Posts – For posting regular articles
  2. Reviews – For posting game reviews
  3. Videos – For posting game videos, trailers etc.

Regular post type can be used to post your articles. Post support featured thumbnails. This theme does not use timthumb file.

Review post type can be used to create game reviews. You have option to rate the games on its various parameters. There are custom metaboxes setup for that. Reviews also support featured thumbnails. Watch the following video to see how to create review posts.

Video post type can be used to post game trailer, game previews etc. There is a custom metabox to embed the video embed code. You can also attach a boxart image of the game to the video post. This will appear on the carousal on the homepage. Watch the following video to see how to create the video post.

This theme comes with 3 custom page templates. To use the custom page templates, just create a NEW PAGE and select the appropriate template from the template dropdown list in the page attributes.

Blog template

The blog page template can be used to display the blog section of your site.

Review template

Use this template to show all the reviews you have on the site

Video template

Use this template to show all the video entries on your site

Once you install the theme, remember to install and activate all the required plugins. They are required for the functioning of the Option page, metaboxes etc.  Also adjust your theme options to configure you homepage and other settings.

        found the solution:
        Go to admin panel then appearance then editor go to single-video.php find where it says video_info_video_embed_code and replace it with WTF_embed

      fixed..

      Only the video slider won’t slide to show the rest.
      the red bar fills up & after that nothing happens..  I don’t see the small arrows also

    Is it possible to add a new criteria for the review template – i already know how to add it to the “optical” template but i still don’t know how to make it possible to add the rating of the criteria,

    Hey guys! I saw some comment where you mentioned that the video post does not work. I had the same problem and because I want you not to have this problem on such a great theme you need to follow 2 really simple steps for the sollution! First on you wp-admin go appearence and then editor. Then find the single-video.php. In this file somewhere says: video_info_video_embed_code  You need to replace it with this: WTF_embed
    When you do this you’ll be good to go!!

    At first, this theme is awesome. But I have a problem with the slider, the pictures are always outside the layout.

      I had that issue, I went into settings>general and deleted by site tagline and that fixed it. I use an seo package so I can stand to lose the tagline from there.

      Hi there, i had same problem too, try to leave your tagline blank.
      - Go Theme page > Customize > Site Title & Tagline > Remove your caption in tagline. This worked for me

    GREAT theme, I love it.
    I have a coupe of questions. 

    1 – Can I change the theme in some way to not be ‘game’ specific so I can use it for movies too?
    2 – That goes for the rating system in review, can they be changed to generic terms like ‘Plot/Story’ ‘Cast’ ‘Visuals’ ‘Overall’
    3 –  Do you have demo content so I can make it look like your demo and populate it with my content from there?

      Yea it’s quite easy:
      1. Go to appearances>Editor>Metabox.php, and search (ctrl + f) for gameplay then replace it with Plot/Story, note change the part where it says “Set a score for Gameplay” and also the part where it says ‘name’ Change NOTHING ELSE,
      2. Go to index.php and search for ‘Gameplay’ and replace this with Plot/Story
      3. Go to Single-review.php and search for ‘Gameplay’ and replace this with Plot/Story
      4. Repeat with every name you want to change.

      Okay i found out a fix for this problem (finally)

    Is there a way to delay the video carousel? I am using this theme (or at least have it as the basis — as I’ve hacked it up a bit) at http://www.ecomprehend.com. It just changes too quickly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is a beautiful theme.

    I’ve been having issues try to get the slide to show attached video. The video slider appears as a thin black strip. I ‘ve installed all the plugins

    - Is there a menu where I have to enable slider setting or video setting?
    - Can I attach still images (jpeg, pngs) instead of videos?
